Speaking of Cruise, he may be a former Top Gun, but he’s not exactly welcome aboard American Airlines jets. After a top American exec caught an in-flight showing of Jerry Maguire during a recent domestic trip, he was appalled at the inclusion of the now-famous ”Don’t! Ever! Stop! F—ing Me!” sex scene between Cruise and Kelly Preston. ”We had been told that the scene would be cut, and it was our impression that it was,” says an American spokesman, who notes that airlines don’t always get the chance to screen the final edited versions of films. ”Instead it turned out to be modified but still in there.” (Sony declined to comment.) American immediately pulled the film from the main cabin but is ”continuing to offer Jerry Maguire as a cassette choice in the first- and business-class cabins,” says the spokesman. The airline promptly replaced Maguire with what it considers a less-offensive option: Chevy Chase’s Vegas Vacation.
