Something Borrowed
Something Borrowed (Book - Alexandra Marshall)
Gale, a semi-successful psychiatrist, and Gary, a less successful architect, were married — until the day she found him sleeping with their babysitter and threw him out in Something Borrowed by Alexandra Marshall. Fifteen years later, their son’s wedding brings the family back together; and Gale and Gary — each remarried — find that their passion for each other has not diminished. Their moral quandary raises some interesting questions: Where is the balance between love and responsibility? What do we owe ourselves versus our families? But unfortunately, the two are so whiny that it’s really hard to care about their answers. And meditations like ”A train, like a marriage undivided by divorce, can just admire the scenery” don’t do all that much to help. C+
