This fish story will have you hooked. Seafood purveyor Joe (Edward James Olmos) and his softheated wife (Maria Conchita Alonso) take in Irish drifter Nick (newcomer Arie Verveen); before long, the three get tangled in a net of greed, deception, and lust. Caught swam in and out of theaters last fall, but this scuffy drama is just right for video, with subtle, simmering performances and an evocative score by Chris Botti. The enticing Verveen looks like a young Brando and mumbles just as unintelligibly, so be prepared to replay his lines. Catch of the day: the hypnotically intense Steven Schub as Joe and Betty’s nasty comedian son, whose baiting of his mother and Nick brings their illicit dealings up from the depths. A-
