3rd Rock From the Sun has evidently been an immensely popular program (#377, May 2), as it has inveigled millions into watching. I, personally, can’t understand the appeal, but a 3-D episode is a brilliant way to not only attract would-be viewers for next season but top off a very prosperous current one. Bravo, 3rd Rock, on a great idea for a season finale. PAIGE MARIE HERMANSEN Corpus Christi, Tex.

I was in a newsstand when I spotted the new EW. I took one look at the holographic 3rd Rock cover and thought, I can’t wait to get mine. Imagine my disappointment when I found a non-holographic cover in my mailbox. Why deny a cool cover to your subscribers? MICHAEL G. KINDNESS Boston

I’m writing to thank Ken Tucker for his article ”And Away She Goes” on Roseanne, which will always be one of my all-time favorite shows. The show deserves some accolades here at its finish. Thank you, Ken, for your unbiased review of this groundbreaking sitcom. Good luck, Roseanne! JACK BALLENGER Sanford, Maine

In News & Notes, Barry Blitt writes that Tiger Woods ”cannot be connected to Kevin Bacon in any realistic way.” Tiger Woods was on The Oprah Winfrey Show; Oprah was in The Color Purple with Whoopi Goldberg, who was in Ghost with Demi Moore, who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon. LAURIE WARD Rochester, N.Y.

The ”stuff you didn’t know about Tiger Woods” piece says he can’t be connected in any realistic way to Kevin Bacon. Wrong! I give you these facts:
Tiger Woods plays golf with Michael Jordan. Jordan was in Space Jam with Bill Murray. Murray was in Ghostbusters with Dan Aykroyd. Aykroyd was in Grosse Pointe Blank with John Cusack. Cusack is in the upcoming Con Air with Nicholas Cage. Cage is in Face/Off with John Travolta. Travolta was in Broken Arrow with Christian Slater. Slater was in Murder in the First with Kevin Bacon! How’s that for realism? MIKE GONZALEZ Laramie, Wyo.

Regarding ”A Clothes Call,” I have some real hesitation in believing the claims of Mr. St. Albin, Mr. Glomboske, and Mr. Stockdale. If they have been so traumatized, why are they heightening their trauma by having their story reportedin EW? What kind of parents parade their kids around like that? Apparently, the same parents whose children’s lawyer threatens publicity and are attempting to get money from Phoenix Pictures. MICHAEL PUOPOLO Beverly Hills, Calif.

CORRECTIONS: The movie Larger Than Life is rated PG (Video). George Michael’s single ”Star People” recently made Billboard’s Hot Dance charts (Music).
