On the night of Oct. 30, 1974, Muhammad Ali dethroned heavyweight boxing champ George Foreman. The soundtrack for When We Were Kings, which documents that landmark match in Kinshasa, Zaire — and its adjunct music festival — features knockout live performances from old pros like B.B. King and James Brown. But some whippersnapper rappers nearly steal their thunder: Joining forces on the new track ”Rumble in the Jungle,” Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, and Forte offer up smooth hip-hop that’s as royal as anything by the old-timers.
