The Big Squeeze

At the heart of any miracle lies some degree of surprise, which, fittingly enough, also happens to be at the root of The Big Squeeze. Amid the salsa rhythms of Latino L.A., a doe-eyed cocktail waitress (Boyle), looking to get her share of an insurance settlement awarded to the husband (Luca Bercovici) she’s been supporting, attracts the attention of a con man (standout Dobson) who concocts a scheme involving a magnolia tree, a mission in need, and a lovelorn gardener (Danny Nucci). A few plot holes away from divine inspiration, this Last Seduction Lite twister at least reinforces your faith in taking chances at the video store.
