Camp Lo cooks up an catchy alphabet soup on their debut, Uptown Saturday Night, spicing uptown anthems like ”Negro League” with black pride, a freaky flow, old-school grooves, and goofy references to ’70s blaxploitation mainstays like Car Wash. And while hip-hop doesn’t need another materialistic ode to champagne, the jazzy vibes of the bubbly ”Sparkle” transcend the genre.
