Patti LaBelle: Greatest Hits

B+

From the disco diva who put her sexy signature on ”Lady Marmalade” to the schmaltz queen who left you dewy-eyed with bittersweet strains of ”On My Own,” the many voices of Patti LaBelle are all here. There’s little filler, and a 1965 version of ”Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and a gospel-infused cover of Cat Stevens’ ”Moon Shadow” are nice breaks in a parade of familiar R&B hits.
