A look at Alec Empire's recent digital hardcore offerings

From the demented and disturbing imagination of German electronic-music guru Alec Empire comes ”digital hardcore,” a techno-industrial hybrid that bypasses Nine Inch Nails-style angst for Minor Threat’s political-punk aggression. While ”22.24” relies on more typical club grooves, Empire’s group Atari Teenage Riot fires up the cultural Cuisinart with ”Deutschland (Has Gotta Die)”, brutally deconstructing a Dinosaur Jr. sample in the process.
