From Joe Namath to Alex Karras, Hollywood has been forced to face the hard truth that pro football and the movies require conflicting kinds of charisma. Erstwhile flashy NFL star Brian Bosworth once again proves this point, taking all the fun out of this tale of a bank exec who discovers his own dangerous past after developing amnesia. The movie, which debuted on HBO, plods along as Bosworth dodges bullets and kills the script’s best attempts to rise above the genre, leaving the typically eccentric Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest) to provide Black Out‘s sole personality as a sartorially obsessed gang leader.
