Here’s an intriguing Web soap that, by default, targets the techno-elite: If you have anything less than a really fast T1 Internet connection, you’ll be able to go out for a pizza in the time that it takes one of Madeleine’s Mind‘s animations to download. If you are wired up the yin/yang, though, the site is worth a visit. Resembling a comic book (with new installments each week), it tells of a young woman who wakes up in a sanatorium with no idea how she got there. Memories slowly flood back — her murdered scientist father, glimmerings of otherworldly secrets. Not a bad little story, but the necessarily crude animation is from the Clutch Cargo school of stiff bodies and moving lips. It’s one more great idea waiting for the bandwidth to do it justice. B
