Latest fashion trend: faux white leopard

From Cameron Diaz to Isabella Rossellini, faux white leopard is the cat’s meow this spring. The animal print, a fresher, high-contrast version of classic black-and-tan leopard, is showing its spots everywhere: on the T-shirt Diaz wore to Todd Oldham’s recent benefit for AIDS Project Los Angeles, on pants donned by Jami Gertz for Twister‘s L.A. premiere, and on coats sported by Rossellini and Illeana Douglas to the New York premiere of Cold Comfort Farm. ”Molto sexy,” purrs Domenico Dolce, one half of the design team Dolce & Gabbana, which made Rossellini’s coat and Gertz’s pants. Great for now, agrees Cindy Crawford stylist Wayne Scot Lukas, though he warns celebs to shelve the trend before it goes to the dogs. ”I wanna know why all these celebrities want to look like 101 Dalmatians. Is this pre-publicity for the movie [due out in November]?” he asks. ”Leave the coat to Glenn Close.”
