So many events, so few outfits. Singer Gloria Estefan and model Helena Christiansen turned up in the same Jean-Paul Gaultier dress at the recent VH1 Honors in L.A., creating the sort of awkward fashion moment usually reserved for Lucy and Ethel. But according to the designer’s rep, the mirror imaging wasn’t as much of a faux pas as it seemed — the African-inspired patchwork numbers only look identical. ”We made a lot of variations,” insists the rep. Since the dress sells for a modest $240, Estefan and Christiansen should have plenty left over for a more exclusive ensemble.
