Part satire, part cheesy horror, this slice of Danish surrealism should sate renters who miss ”Twin Peaks.” Director-cowriter Lars Von Trier’s 4 1/2-hour opus about a Copenhagen hospital has its own weird characters: malevolent doctors, seance-conducting patients, psychic kitchen help, and a gaggle of ghosts. Unlike David Lynch’s TV fizz-out, ”Kingdom” rarely loses focus. No matter if some things go unexplained — the film’s imagery and pleasurably convoluted plot haunt like a vivid dream. B
