John Tesh runs a label and mounts grand-scale performances, but his music goes no deeper than pleasantry. And although he employs fine musicians like harmonica wiz Howard Levy and trumpeter Jeff Beal on Discovery, he gives them nothing better to do than make New Age-cum-poppish aural wallpaper.
