Minor rock legend Tommy Keene crafted some of the best power pop of the ’80s, and Ten Years After is a worthy successor to his terrific (and mostly ignored) 1984 EP Places That Are Gone. And that’s the problem: Ten Years After is 10 years too late. Keene’s smart lyrics and considerable melodic sense are intact but dated — the album is like a flower fossilized in amber.
