Enduring 20 years of infertility, Deidre Hall, the diva of NBC’s Days of Our Lives, watched two of her marriages collapse and underwent numerous operations in an effort to conceive. (Hall, 48, is now the proud mom of David, 3, and Tully, 11 months—both born to the same surrogate mother.) And getting a TV movie made about her struggle was another ordeal. Almost three years ago, NBC had a draft of the story that Hall says was rife with inaccuracies: ”It was almost total fiction. They couldn’t see doing a movie that didn’t have two women fighting. My experience was not Baby M. So I passed.” The end result of her diligence is Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story (ABC, Dec. 10, 9-11 p.m.), and the actress makes no apologies for the utterly uplifting tale: ”I wanted people to feel hopeful about life. Frankly, I’m sick of women-in-jeopardy movies.”
