The hardcore trio’s eighth album — and major-label debut — returns to the rudimentary, grinding guitars and melodic rhythms of their early-’80s material, before going new wave. Unfortunately, next to today’s punk rockers, their garage-band feel and whiny, off-key vocals sound undeveloped and amateurish.
