Ersatz Beat goddess Jones goes the live acoustic route on Naked Songs, performing material from her 16-year career with a lone guitar or piano and occasional supporting bass. Without the protective art-rock backing, Jones often seems drained. But she weaves a sad, gauzy mood around ”Skeletons” and springs to neurotic passion on ”Magazine.” Jones may be an oddity from the past, but certain ghosts are more haunting than others. C+
