Ed Wood, Jr. known for frequent discontinuity -- Are mismatched shots found in the movie bio ''Ed Wood'' starring Johnny Depp a tribute or accident?

A trademark feature of all the films directed by Edward D. Wood Jr. was frequent lapses in continuity. Appropriately enough, the 1994 movie bio Ed Wood includes its own (presumably inadvertently) mismatched shots.

In a touching scene that takes place 1 hour and 34 minutes into the film, Wood (Johnny Depp) films Bela Lugosi (Martin Landau) leaving his suburban home; as Lugosi stands on the porch discussing the scene, we see a cement path extending toward Wood. But when the director walks out from behind the camera, Wood ends up standing on grass — the walkway isn’t there. Is this a subtle suggestion that Lugosi has lost his way? Or a miniature tribute to Wood’s style? You decide.
