Scooter’s Magic Castle Deluxe deluxe (abc/ea Home Software, CD-ROM for MS-DOS, $49.95) On the surface, this disc has just about everything a 4- to 7-year-old might want: a ghost-filled castle to explore and lots of fairly imaginative animated games that develop math and reading skills. There’s even The Lion King’s Jonathan Taylor Thomas as your guide, Scooter. But woe to those who try to linger in the castle. Slow down and Thomas jabbers the annoying phrase ”If we’re not exploring, it’s boring.” The underlying message: Kids, cultivate that frenetic pace early. This program wants you to join the rat race ASAP. B- -Harold Goldberg
