Keio Flying Squadron(JVC, for Sega CD, $49.99) A little girl in a bunny suit battles giant raccoons, pirate ships, and the forces of American imperialism in the loopiest side-scrolling shooting game since well, the closest antecedents I can think of are schlock Japanese monster movies like Mothra and Rodan. And lest you think only American kids get dumbed down by exposure to video games, listen closely to Keio’s animated prologue, which breathlessly credits Japan’s rise as a world power to a combination of elemental alchemy and Native American shamanism.
