Split decision: When is a torrid love scene with Keanu Reeves not all it should be? When he’s already been puckered up. According to Reeves’ A Walk in the Clouds costar Debra Messing (NYPD Blue), the night before their big sex scene, avid hockey player Reeves was high-sticked in a friendly game. ”His lip was split open, and he got six stitches on the inside and outside of his mouth,” says Messing, who plays Reeves’ wife in the World War II romance. ”It was so sad,” she says. ”We had to do a lot of kissing.” How did Keanu endure the pain? Says Messing: ”He kept telling me, ‘Please don’t hurt me.”’ -Cindy Pearlman Hair traffic control: Music Row lived up to its name last month when Reba McEntire tried to add a helipad to her 25,000-square-foot Starstruck Entertainment complex (dubbed ”Rebaland”), now under construction. Afraid the noise would disturb nearby recording studios, such Nashville patriarchs as Chet Atkins, Ray Stevens, and Owen Bradley asked McEntire to reconsider. When Starstruck didn’t respond, the group got the helipad idea shot down at a local zoning-board meeting. A McEntire spokeswoman insists the hubbub was overblown, but opposition leader Michael Bevington Sayle vows vigilance. ”This is just an artist with a lot of money,” he says. ”If she built a helicopter pad, who’s to say Alabama or Garth Brooks wouldn’t? There are a lot of people on Music Row with a lot of money.” -Steve Stolder
