CLARK HOWARD’S CONSUMER SURVIVAL KIT (IBM Multimedia Studio, CD-ROM for PC, $25.95) Tired of getting ripped off? This disc is supposed to be an everyday guide to help the little guy fight big companies over everything from apartment rentals to life insurance. When it works, it’s because of the info- packed text that shows you how to get results as well as how to lease a car and compose a will. Your guide, Atlanta Journal Constitution reporter Howard, is no dim bulb, but he’s ho-hum. What’s worse, the producers let him ramble off the cuff for way too long. Survival would have been fittest with a tighter script, more video footage, less on-screen text, and more zest. B- -Harold Goldberg
