The latest offering from hip-hop’s reigning diva, Mary J. Blige, is more serious than her crossover 1992 debut. She’s still preoccupied with affairs of the heart (”I Love You”) but is also on a quest for happiness (”My Life”). And while she continues soaring to soulful heights over streetwise beats, her raspy delivery has lost some of its edge on My Life. B
