You want more of that cool-looking organically armored guy? You’ve got more — a lot more! This thing’s 2 hours and 7 minutes long. Who directed it, David Lean? No, Steve Wang, who’s helmed many Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episodes, which must be why Guyver 2: Dark Hero often plays like an R-rated MMPR installment. But once Guyver-possessed David Hayter stumbles upon an archaeological dig that’s unearthed alien beings who hold the key to his origins, Dark Hero takes on a goofily hallucinogenic air that’s genuinely amusing if you’re in the right frame of mind.
