You can’t always believe what you read in the papers. Actress Kathy Najimy (Sister Act) was apparently outed by USA Today, which reported that she ”spoke openly about her female lover” when she took the microphone at a gay pride rally in New York City on June 26. Well, not quite: Najimy, who’s been dating composer John Boswell for nine years, was relating a story about the time a reporter asked her opinion of lesbian chic and she joked, ”Just a minute. Let me ask my lover. Susan!” When the comments were misconstrued, Najimy says, she was ”at first amused, but then my boyfriend had a little talk with me.” Najimy insists that ”I’m not frantic to clear my name or anything. But if I were gay and wanted to come out, I would be a little more serious about it.”
