After a 17-year hiatus, the legendary Stax Records house band of the ’60s, Booker T and the MGs, returns with both covers and originals on the album That’s the Way It Should Be. Yet the results are either refreshingly tight (as on the funkiness of ”Camel Ride”) or just organ-heavy Muzak (a drippy version of Janet Jackson’s ”Let’s Wait Awhile”). A true musical throwback, the album ends up half-buoyant, half-flat. C
