After winning an Academy Award for The Piano, Anna Paquin, 11, beat a fast path back to New Zealand to return to school. Not to worry, though, she’ll most likely be back in Hollywood soon. ”She’s been flooded with offers,” says her agent. ”I think if everyone leaves her alone, she’ll consider (another movie).” But MCI, whose TV ads featuring Paquin will run through May, has no plans to cash in on the actress’ new distinction. ”I think we will re-approach her soon,” says an ad-agency spokesman. ”But as cold — or stupid — as it may sound, we don’t see (making any) changes as a result of her winning. A lot of people who see The Piano will say, ‘Oh, there’s the girl from the MCI commercial.”’
