Grindcore was supposed to be the culmination of hardcore, industrial, and death metal, but mostly it sounds like cretins with guitars barking over a hyper-speed rhythm section. The latest offering from this attack unit, Heartwork, isn’t likely to win any new converts, despite the group’s recent discovery of what it calls ”melody.” While that, um, innovative idea does give them a slight edge over the competition, the aptly named Carcass is still beating a dead horse.
