*Developing: Retired actress Jane Fonda returns to film, but this time she’ll be behind the camera. She plans to produce the Native American drama Pigs in Heaven (based on the Barbara Kingsolver novel) for hubby Ted’s Turner Pictures. * Plotting: Spanky and Buckwheat may be gone, but good high jinks never die. Steven Spielberg is bringing the Little Rascals back to the big screen in an updated version of the series from the ’30s and ’40s. Production will start early next year. * Shooting: Fresh from her fizzle in Sliver, Sharon Stone heads west for her next project, The Quick and the Dead. Stone has been cast as a gunslinger who falls for a corrupt mayor named Herod (Gene Hackman) in a town called Redemption. Wow-heavy. Expect Dead to come alive next year. -Tim Purtell
