Roy Orbison in The Fastest Guitar Alive (1968, MGM/UA) — Obrison and Presley had a lot in common — Southern background, raw talent, early rockabilly hits on Sun Records, even the script for this Western, originally slated as the follow-up to Love Me Tender. What Orbison did not share with Elvis was screen presence. Thing do pick up whenever Orbison sings, but most of the time he just looks embarrassed about having to impersonate a leading man. C
