* Pocket Books will publish a Beavis and Butt-head book in November. The volume will be produced by a team of MTV writers and artists under the guidance of the series’ creator, Mike Judge. * When Simon & Schuster dropped producer Robert Evans’ autobiography, Hyperion scooped it up for ”considerably less” than the $600,000 S&S had paid. The Kid Stays in the Picture will be published in September of ’94.

* Putnam paid $750,000 for noir author Robert Ferrigno’s next two (as yet uncompleted) novels.

* S&S has bought withdrawn Clinton administration nominee Lani Guinier’s memoirs.
