Last year, guitarist Pat Metheny hit the road in style with an expanded band, and if ever a live album were warranted, surely it’s The Road to You. Metheny unleashes some gritty, angsty playing but mostly leans into his trademarked, fleet-fingered lyricism. Traipsing among Latin, jazz, and folk ideas, Metheny’s stuff goes down easy but has musicality deep in the bones. B+
