Sammy Kershaw reeled in a winner his first time out with ”Don’t Go Near the Water,” a snaky vignette of lust and tension in the mythic Deep South. Now, on his second album, Haunted Heart, he goes the traditional route, but his phrasing is strictly derivative — of everyone from Jerry Reed to Ronnie Milsap. C+
