Take a poet (John Heard), a politician (Waterston), and a scientist (Ullmann), stick them on the medieval island known as Mont-Saint-Michel, let them argue over the fate of mankind, and what do you get? An earnest, intriguing, ultimately wearying yakathon. Based on a book by the author of The Tao of Physics, Mindwalk is like being stuck in a room with the three best students on the debate squad. It’s health food for thought: high in fiber, tastes like rocks. C
