Onetime Fleetwood Macker Billy Burnette has always been a country-rocker at heart, and on Coming Home he lets his heart show with the pretty honky-tonk ballad ”Let Your Heart Make Up Your Mind” (proving my point) and a lovely, Everly Brothers-inspired ”Sugar Babe.” But he can’t redeem the self-help platitudes of ”I Recovered, I Survived,” and that’s probably the one his record company hopes will be a break-out novelty hit.
