The effort to draft actor Edward James Olmos (American Me) as a candidate to replace outgoing L.A. mayor Tom Bradley this year continues. The activist star, who has stressed the need for a Hispanic candidate, says he won’t run. But if called upon by, say, a write-in vote, he won’t refuse. ”I’m civic-minded in that respect,” he says. ”If they asked me to serve on a jury, I’d serve.”
