Stephen King movies are approaching the saturation point of Stephen King books. The more of them you absorb, the greater your sense of déjà vu. This made-for-TV dud is a perfect example. Based on a King short story, Sometimes They Come Back is composed almost entirely of recycled elements: another schoolteacher hero (Tim Matheson), another sleepy small town, another set of haunting memories from a tragic past. This time, the ghosts take shape as teen punks who terrorize the teacher and his family. ”They’re the same guys who killed my brother,” says the teacher. ”But the boys who killed your brother are dead,” says his wife (Brooke Adams). Little does she know, sometimes they come back. Just like Stephen King story lines. C
