Despite its title, this thriller isn’t really so hot — not even in its unrated version, which contains two extra minutes of an explicit coupling. Sunset Heat‘s familiar plot concerns a reformed drug dealer (Michael Pare) who is wrongly accused of ripping off his expartner (Dennis Hopper) and given 24 hours to produce the missing money. Since Pare spends half that time making up with his old flame (Daphne Ashbrook), the suspense doesn’t exactly kill you. The only real heat comes from Hopper’s comic performance as a slow-burn psychotic. Both versions: C
