Mondo Bizarro

The Ramones became a punk-rock institution through their single-minded devotion to one thing: elementary tunes with stupid lyrics, played hard and simple. Ideally, every great Ramones song sounds like every other; creative ambition has been the band’s occasional undoing. The quartet’s 12th studio album, Mondo Bizarro, is prudently no social climber, but with so much of their own punk junk to recycle, why cover a Doors song and swipe the chorus of ”I Won’t Let It Happen” from glam-rockers Slade?
