No self-respecting fan of hillbilly calls the music country & western anymore, but this contemporary cowpoke hope to change that with a new album on the new Warner Western label. In A Cowboy Has to Sing, the Sons of the San Joaquin model themselves after the ’40s group Sons of the Pioneers but come across as talented mimics who’d be happy singing barbershop.
