What’s this? A rock-solid rock band playing on a tiny stage, interacting with the crowd, and singing tunes the musicians clearly love? In this age of computerized corporate arena rock? Keith Richards & the X-pensive Winos, a document of the tour to support Keith’s ”Talk Is Cheap” solo album, captures more spontaneity and passion than any long-form concert video since 1983’s ”A Night With Lou Reed.” The pick hit is a jaw-droppingly soulful version of ”Time Is on My Side” sung by Sara Dash, though there’s nothing here that’s less than great fun, and most of it — including a fabulous ”Connection” from Keith — is considerably more. Aided by an excellent stereo soundtrack, this ends up being a video that’s more vital than the CD it was made to promote. A
