Here’s another of those CBS late-night detective shows that’s supposed to be too hot for prime time. It’s about a pair of Palm Beach, Fla., police detectives, played by Rob Estes and Mitzi Kapture (may we see your birth certificate for that surname, Mit- zi?). We’re told the duo specializes in ”society murders” — the untimely deaths of wealthy Palm Beach residents; Estes’ character has dubbed these murders ”silk stalkings.”

That’s about as clever as things get in this creation from Stephen J. Cannell (The A-Team, Wiseguy); the rest of the time, it’s the usual action-adventure bang-bang, plus plenty of ground-level camera shots of Kapture’s miniskirted legs. Oh, yes — our hotshot heroes have the requisite frazzled police-captain boss; he’s played by Ben Vereen, who once starred in a much superior Cannell cop show, 1980’s Tenspeed and Brown Shoe, with Jeff Goldblum.
