The rarely heard Te Deum of Antonin Dvorák included as makeweight is wondrously sung. This music was in Dvorák’s luggage when he arrived in New York from Prague in 1892; its world premiere, under Dvorák’s direction, was at Carnegie Hall that October. The piece deserves better circulation, not as a historical relic but as a near masterwork too often overlooked. A-
