TV: What kind of geniuses take five years to finish high school? The students on Head of the Class, who will finally receive their diplomas in the season’s last episode this spring. ABC hasn’t officially canceled Class, but sources say producers Richard Eustis and Michael Elias aren’t waiting for the final bell; the episode will feature the destruction of Millard Fillmore High. For next season, Eustis and Elias are said to be developing a sitcom for Class star Billy Connolly… After a streak of prime-time flops this season the Fox network is turning to a new source for inspiration: Artificial Intelligence. The improv theater troupe, whose Tony and Tina’s Wedding has been a long- running hit in several cities, will draw on the play’s Italian working-class characters to create a comedy pilot…
MUSIC: Flavor Flav (a.k.a. William Drayton), so likable and humorous on stage with Public Enemy, was apparently not so likable and humorous at his Long Island home on Feb. 10, when he was arrested on charges of punching his 21-year-old live-in girlfriend, Karren Ross, in the face. Nassau County police say that Ross suffered bruises and Flav, 31, reportedly admitted, ”We had a quarrel. We hit each other.” But a spokesman for Rush Artist Management, which handles the rap group, insists, ”It’s not really as bad as the press made it out to be.” — Melina Geroas, Mark Harris, and Bob Mack
