Live at San Quentin

Seasoned pro at work, singing blues for an appreciative audience. There are no great surprises in Live at San Quentin, and the songs all sound nearly alike, except for one new studio cut, a sentimental tune called “Peace to the World” that’s dumber than the rest. Strangest moment: “How about a hand for the warden?” somebody asks-followed by notably unenthusiastic applause. C+
