'Treehouse of Horror XXVIII' first look

Do you like your chortles with a side of the chills? Your giggles with gore? Your tee-hees with terror? Well, you've come to right place for alliteration. The Simpsons continues its annual Halloween tradition with the 28th installment of "Treehouse of Horror." This year's episode — which airs Oct. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox — takes you into the world of The Exorcist, Coraline, and, well, something involving Homer's head in a pan. Scroll through these images from "Treehouse of Horror XXVIII" to see what will become the stuff of your animated nightmares.
In the opening, the Simpsons have been transformed into candy bars. Candy bars who do not want to be eaten.
When Maggie becomes possessed, a priest played Ben Daniels (of Fox drama The Exorcist) is called in to de-spirit her. (Expect another Exorcist-related cameo by William Friedkin, who directed the 1973 big-screen classic, as an addiction therapist.)
Baby Maggie elevates this parody.
Bart wants to horn in on the action.
In this parody of Neil Gaiman's Coraline, Lisa discovers a perfect world. There's just one problem …
Your eyes are sewn with buttons. (There are probably other problems too.)
Gaiman is on the joke; he'll voice Snowball V.
The title of this ominous segment is "Mmm... Homer."
Homer is the main course. (And Mario Batali is the guest star.)
