Grey's Anatomy: Is Bailey going to die?

Posted on

Grey’s Anatomy fans are on edge.

Following Thursday’s episode, a promo for next week’s hour teased that Bailey (Chandra Wilson) thinks she’s having a heart attack. Suffice it to say, many fans on Twitter are worried that Wilson, one of four original cast members still remaining, would be exiting the long-running medical drama.

Here’s the official logline for next week’s episode: “The stress of managing the hospital and coming to terms with Ben’s decision to become a Seattle firefighter pushes Bailey to her limits.”

Listen, it’s natural to worry about beloved characters, but we’d put good money on Bailey surviving this one. Sure, Ben (Jason George) being a widower heading into the spin-off, Station 19, might make for interesting stories across both shows, but Bailey is a stalwart character whose evolution into the Chief has been a long time coming. It feels far too early to just drop that storyline after all she’s achieved. Maybe we’re just in denial, but no one messes with Bailey, so we’re cautiously optimistic that she’ll be okay.

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
