Jane Fonda pokes fun at Megyn Kelly after Lily Tomlin facelift joke

Posted on

Remember a few months ago when Megyn Kelly asked Jane Fonda a super awkward question about plastic surgery? Fonda sure does.

Fonda and Lily Tomlin appeared on Today on Tuesday to talk about the upcoming return of Grace and Frankie — and crack a few jokes at each other’s expense. When Hoda Kotb asked the pair how long they’d known each other, Tomlin turned to Fonda and joked, “I think before your first facelift.”

As Kotb and co-host Savannah Guthrie dissolved into laughter, Fonda replied, “Who are you, Megyn Kelly?”

In September, Fonda and Robert Redford appeared on one of the first episodes of Megyn Kelly Today, where the host asked Fonda about her history with plastic surgery. Fonda shut her down with a curt response, telling Kelly, “We really want to talk about that right now?” In later interviews, Fonda opened up about how she thought it was inappropriate for Kelly to ask the question when she and Redford were there to promote their Netflix movie, Our Souls At Night.

“Given the fact that we don’t have a lot of time and Bob is right here, it was a weird thing to bring up — whether I’ve had plastic surgery or not,” she toldET Canada. “I have and I’ve talked about it. But it just seemed like the wrong time and place to raise that question.”
